Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts is a side-scrolling platform game developed and published by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was released in 1991 and is the third game in the Ghosts ‘n Goblins series. In Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, players control the knight Sir Arthur, who must embark on a perilous journey to rescue the princess from the clutches of evil.

The game is known for its challenging gameplay, precise platforming, and relentless enemies. The game is divided into various levels, each filled with dangerous creatures and treacherous obstacles. Sir Arthur starts with a simple lance as his primary weapon, but throughout the game, he can find new weapons and armor upgrades to aid him in his quest.

One notable feature of Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts is the ability to obtain different suits of armor, each with its unique abilities. These armor upgrades grant Arthur additional powers, such as shooting projectiles or performing powerful magic attacks. The difficulty level in Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts is notoriously high, with challenging enemy patterns and demanding platforming sections.

Upon completing the game, players are required to replay it on a higher difficulty setting to witness the true ending, adding to the game’s replay value. Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts received critical acclaim for its atmospheric graphics, tight controls, and challenging gameplay.

It is regarded as one of the best platformers on the SNES and remains a beloved title among fans of the Ghosts ‘n Goblins series and retro gaming enthusiasts.
